Now that's a shocker, isn't it? A gaming laptop that isn't particularly friendly on your wallet? It's true,
Origin's Eon18 is not the machine to consider if you're ready to make the step up from a netbook but aren't yet willing to step into quadruple-digit price tags. As tested by
Laptop, the Eon18 was half-way to five-digits thanks to its $5,952 cost, but that money gets you a an Intel Core 2 Extreme
QX9300 chip running at 2.53GHz, dual 160GB SSDs, a pair of GeForce
GTX 280M graphics cards, a lovely airbrush job on the lid, and a power brick that on its own, at three pounds, weights more than some of the competition's machines (no concerns about
inadequate juice here). That configuration delivers unbeatable I/O performance but, when it came to the all-important gaming benchmarks, was found to be comparable to
Alienware's M17x, and thus not exactly worth the $1,000 premium -- unless you really dig flame jobs.
[Thanks, Mark]

CCP Games has made some sweeping changes to how players claim and contest territory in
EVE Online, with the recently-launched
Dominion expansion. These changes haven't been without issue, however, and a significant problem with the new
Sovereignty Blockade Units (SBU) has arisen. SBUs are anchored by attackers at stargates in a solar system belonging to the territory-holding alliance and disrupts the control of the Sovereignty holder, providing opportunities for attackers to usurp the space holding alliance. Issues with the SBUs prompted the devs to declare an exploit over the weekend.
EVE's Community Manager
CCP Wrangler stated:
"An issue has been discovered that makes outposts and infrastructure hubs vulnerable to attacks without the attacker having adequate Sovereignty Blockade Unit (SBU) coverage in the system. Attacking outposts and/or infrastructure hubs without adequate Sovereignty Blockade Units in the system is an exploit and any incidents will be dealt with accordingly. Situations where attackers have the proper SBU coverage are not subject to this rule. The problem is under repairs and will be fixed as soon as possible. We thank you for your understanding and patience in this matter."Continue reading CCP Games declares exploit in EVE's new Sovereignty system

Seems there's a little tension the land of make believe...
While guests escape to Neverland, hotel staffers are escaping into the great outdoors in Disneyland.
Nearly 200 workers from the Disneyland Hotel and the Paradise Pier Hotel in Anaheim, Calif., staged a walkout on Friday to protest unfair working conditions. The housekeeping staff claims the room renovations, made earlier this year, made it more difficult to clean the rooms.
The
Disneyland Hotel has 969 rooms and the
Paradise Pier Hotel has 468 rooms - both hotels are located in the Downtown Disney District and include everything from pools to playgrounds.
But the fun doesn't stop there...
Last Sunday 75 workers walked out of their jobs claiming unfair workloads forcing other members of Disney staff to fill in. The Sunday walkout ended peacefully with all staffers going back to the jobs.
